Two years ago, Michael and I lived out a dream we'd had since we first got married. We returned to the place we honeymooned (Amelia Island, Florida) for a month and used it as a writing sabbatical. During that time we worked only on our creative writing.
Here are a few photos from the stay.

What a wonderful, wonderful thing!!! I actually gasped when I read this. It has never even occurred to me to take time off to do my creative stuff. You have plant a seed, Ms. Ruth...
That would be "plantED." Sigh.
What a wonderful gift for yourselves. Beautiful pics.
Hmmm, I thought those looked just like my photos of St. Augustine. Well, you were only an hour north. And I agree: great idea for a little creative sabbatical!
Amelia Island looks particularly enticing today! What a healthy idea!
Looks like a lovely (warm) place. The first photo is stunningly beautiful!
Oh, that sounds wonderful. What a neat thing you were able to do for yourselves. I love the picture of you and Smokey on the beach.
yep, there's nothing like the beach to make you feel creative. Or romantic!
I somehow knew the "puppy" would be along on this trip :)
I imagine when you write for a living it is difficult to get in a creative mode occassionally! The photos are great!
I like the idea of having 'your place' as a couple. I bet it's nice to have a place to go back to and remember.
Lovely pictures. Last night I put a photo of two of our kids on the beach in the summer as my desktop background on the computer. I think at this time of year we need to see sunny pictures and feel hope that winter won't go on forever!!
What an amazingly cool idea!
Your pictures make me wistful for warmth and the sea.
It would be just wonderful to be there now. A whole month? Fantastic!
Ahhhhhhhhhhh!
I love the first photo. It looks like the horizon is opening up to accept the sun within it's arms.
What a fantastic idea! You both seem so purposeful in your choices. And it looks like you had a fantastic time -- good memories!
That DOES sound like a dream come true - it's funny because I almost posted "summer" pictures today - to remind me what it is...
I have been thinking of the beautiful English landscapes lately. It wasn't a sunny beach but I am just in that "longing to be elsewhere" moment.
